Everything you want to know about PHIBRA — clear answers, no jargon.

No, PHIBRA is still in development. This website is for information only: it lets you follow Oncelia's news and PHIBRA's progress.

PHIBRA is intended for all women who want earlier, more regular and more reassuring breast monitoring — to keep a closer eye on their breast health and ease anxiety between check-ups. It is particularly suited to:

  • Women at high genetic risk (BRCA1/2 mutation) and/or with a family history
  • Women under 50, for whom mammography screening is generally not yet recommended
  • Women undergoing treatment or in remission, as part of enhanced monitoring
  • Women living far from healthcare facilities or with reduced mobility
  • Women over 74, who are no longer included in organized screening programs
  • Women who have had ovarian cancer or Hodgkin lymphoma

Both. Initially, PHIBRA will mainly be used at home — available directly or through supplemental health insurers and employers, as part of prevention programs.

At a later stage, it will also be offered in partner medical practices: midwives, community gynecologists, urban health centers and occupational health services.

Absolutely not. PHIBRA complements existing medical exams. It enables earlier, more frequent monitoring between appointments and may flag anomalies that warrant further investigation. Getting your mammograms at the recommended frequency remains essential.

Yes. The first PHIBRA clinical study (first-in-human) was conducted at the Hospices Civils de Lyon (HCL) under the direction of Prof. Cortet, with 40 patients. The results were published in Sensors (MDPI) in May 2026: 83.3% sensitivity, 71.5% specificity.

The protocol adapts to your profile: a calibration phase followed by longitudinal monitoring. You'll find all the details in the PHIBRA Usage section.

Absolutely not. PHIBRA uses two 100% harmless, non-invasive technologies: bioimpedance (a very low-intensity current you cannot feel — just like in smart scales) and thermography (reading the body's natural heat). No radiation, no compression.

Yes. Your data is pseudonymized from the moment it is collected, hosted on certified HDS servers (the French standard for health data hosting) and processed in compliance with the GDPR. A multi-level consent framework lets you control precisely how it is used. Your privacy is a design priority, not an option.
